Hi! I'm Mike Wilson, a designer and aspiring writer living in Iron Station, North Carolina. I specialize in creative, user-centered design and XHTML/CSS development. I have an affinity for branding, icon design, and for creating Websites people love to use. I occasionally blog my experiences and I dabble in photography. Wootadoo is my portfolio.
What my clients say:
“One of the best things about working with Mike is his ability to take an extremely complex technical concept and break it down into simple, easy to understand visuals that potential clients can quickly digest. That type of creative ability and insight has been indispensable to our sales efforts.” – Victor Lugo, Director of Sales – IQMax, Inc.

What I did:
IQMax was using a mashup set of generic icons for their mobile healthcare applications that didn't always clearly communicate specific functionality. My task was to design a custom, unified set of some 75 icons for use across all of the mobile applications as well as in the main administration system. The new icon set, ultimately approved by actual caregivers beta testing the applications, more accurately depicts the application actions and information and makes it easier for users to quickly get the the information or functionality they need.
IQMax Mobile Applications Icons
What I did:
IQMax builds enterprise level mobile healthcare software solutions for hospitals and clinics. They've taken routine tasks such as dictation and billing and moved them to a web-based interface that users can access from virtually any device with an Internet connection. They needed a fresh, unified set of application icons that are easily recognizable and available for use in web and desktop applications as well as print media.
